Is an audition required?
Bel Canto Chorus is an auditioned chorus. Auditions are typically held four times per year, typically on a Saturday at North Shore Congregational Church, a week or two after rehearsals have begun for the corresponding concert. We invite you to attend the first rehearsal or two of a concert series (Try It You'll Like It rehearsals , orTIYLI) to make sure Bel Canto is right for you before auditioning.

Is there a fee to join?
The annual chorus fee is $150 ($75 if joining after the December concert). This fee is used to purchase and rent music (members keep non-rental music), and pay for rehearsal-related expenses, including retreats. Scholarships are available on a limited basis and are confidential. When do you rehearse? We usually rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W Walnut, Milwaukee, WI 53212. Each concert rehearsal series also includes a weekend retreat consisting of one rehearsal on Friday night and two rehearsals on Saturday. Concert weeks include extra rehearsals. When are your concerts? Concert dates are listed on the Season Calendar webpage. What about concert clothes? Members purchase their own concert attire. |
