Managing Director
Bel Canto Chorus seeks a Managing Director with a passion for inspiring people through the performing arts. This executive position is responsible for administering the Chorus’ artistic endeavors. The position is full time with longer hours expected during the concert season (mid-August through mid-May) and lighter hours during the off season (usually mid-May through mid-August). Occasional night and weekend hours are required to support rehearsals and all performances by Bel Canto choruses.
The Managing Director is responsible for administrative, marketing, fund development, outreach and production activities related to the operation of Bel Canto Chorus. This position works closely with and reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A close working relationship will also be needed with the Artistic Director in order to support the administrative facets of concerts and programming. The position supervises the production and volunteer manager, marketing and accounting contractors, interns, and has high level oversight of volunteers. Artistic Director
Bel Canto Chorus seeks an Artistic Director who will embody the mission and vision of Bel Canto Chorus. The Artistic Director is responsible for directing all artistic aspects of Bel Canto Chorus, including developing the artistic vision for the main auditioned choir, singer technique development, performances and programming, artistic development, educational and community outreach, and audience development. The Artistic Director is involved in fundraising, community and board relations, and contributes marketing content that enhances the position’s status as the primary public face of the organization.

SEARCH TIMELINE
- It is our hope that applicants will be notified by September 10, 2023, if selected for a virtual, first round interview. Applications will continue to be accepted during this time.
- First round interviews will take place in late September.
- Applicants moved forward as finalists will be invited to Milwaukee for in-person auditions with the chorus as well as interviews with staff and board members.
- The Search Committee hopes to have the process completed by March 2024.
