Sometimes it’s the community that surrounds you…For those who have lived between cultures or far from the familiar, the idea of belonging is rarely straightforward…Looking for Home doesn’t answer the question of what home is. But it does try to trace the path we walk when we begin to search for it. - Santiago Veros
What's Interesting 
  • "We'll all sing hallelujah when we've arrived at home!" Shawn Kirchner's setting of three classic American folk hymns, Heavenly Home, form the beating heart of this program about all the ways we experience home.
  • Composed after reading the book Goodnight Moon to his son countless times, Eric Whitacre's choral work of the same title reflects on the home we find in childhood and parenthood, fueled by rituals like reading bedtime stories together.
  • Representatives from our local Habitat for Humanity chapter will be present, offering insight into what home means for individuals and families in Milwaukee today.
The Venue
