Danielle Bridges is thrilled to join the Bel Canto Chorus staff as the conductor for the Saint John’s on the Lake and San Camillo Senior Singers choirs! Danielle received her B.M. in Vocal Music Education from the University of Central Arkansas and her M.A. in Choral Conducting and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa. During her studies, Danielle discovered a particular interest in developing creative, communal textual analysis and nonverbal communication methods for use during choral rehearsals. She is an proponent for music by women composers and founded the Iowa Women’s Music Collective to advocate for the research and performance of music by women. Her research has allowed her to present at conferences including the International Voice Foundation Symposium and the inaugural Theorizing African-American Music Conference. Danielle has served as a choral consultant for public and private schools, which led to rich experiences such as implementing a choral program in one public school district for the first time and conducting in the Mennonite Schools Council Regional Choral Festival. She is the current Director of Music at Community United Methodist Church, where she conducts the Chancel Choir, Clarion Bells, and Festival Choir. A new resident of the Milwaukee area, Danielle enjoys exploring and hiking in her free time with her husband, Tyler, playing with her cat, Gwen, and writing poetry. |
